Dan and Naomi Rodden Playwriting Award

Submissions are open from April 1 through May 31 every other year. The next award will open on 1 June 2025.

Submissions for the award must be unproduced or scheduled for production at the time of submission.

​

Plays must be at least 75 minutes in length.

​

We do not consider historical biographies or musicals.

​

Subject matter is open but excessive violence and language or abusive or sexual content will be rejected.

​

Plays should have been completed within the last two years.

​

Plays that were written under commission, contract, or as part of a university or professional program are ineligible.

Please download the cover sheet below and include it with your emailed script as a PDF document.

Include your name and the title of your submission in the body of the email.

We accept PDF files only.
Please title your PDF with your family name and title of piece. For example, if John Smith's script is called "Happy Dog Day," the document should be sent as SmithHappyDogDay.pdf.
Submissions should include full contact information on the first page.
Submissions should be paginated.
