Award for a published poetry collection.
Jane and HH Egbert Poetry Award
Submission are accepted every other year. Submissions for the 2025 award are open 1 June through 1 December 2024.

The 2025 Award includes recognization and a $200 cash prize.

1. Open to any poet worldwide who has published a collection of poetry in the last two years in English. Please see exact publication dates below.
2. Submissions must be the original work of the book author.
3. Books that are “best of” or “uncollected works” are not eligible.
4. “AI” assisted or generated work is not eligible.
5. There is no entry fee.
6. Entries must be submitted by 30 November 2024, 11:59pm EST.
7. Submissions must be primarily in English. The inclusion of other languages is fine as long as the intended reader is an English-speaking one.
8. No translations are allowed.
9. Each entry must have been published on or after 1 December 2022. Proof of publication date must be printed in the book.
10. Books may be entered by the author or the publisher and may be self-published. Self-published collections must be easily for sale to the public.
11. Only single-author books are eligible.
12. We prefer entries be submitted as a PDF file. Physical book entry method instructions are included on the entry form.
13. Include a copy of the completed entry form found here.
14. Submit your PDF file and entry form via email to EgbertRoddenWA@gmail.com with the subject line: “Poetry Contest Submission – [Last Name]”.
15. In the body of the email, include your name, book title, and contact information.
16. Incomplete or incorrect entries will be discarded unread.
17. The winner is at the discretion of ERWA. We reserve the right to withhold the award for any reason.
18. The winning book will be announced around 1 April 2025. To reduce administrative time, no other entrants but the winner will be contacted. We apologize in advance for this inconvenience.
19. The author will receive a cash award of $200 and named the “Egbert Poetry Award 2025” recipient.
20. Only one entry per poet is allowed.
21. ERWA is not responsible for late, lost, or damaged entries.
22. Failure to follow any of the above rules may result in disqualification.
23. Poets retains all rights to their work.
